Overview
If you’re on the LTD plan, you can plug in your own API keys so SheetXAI can run the chatbot and SAI operations using your providers.
Step-by-step: Add your API keys
Step 1: Open SheetXAI Settings
- Open the SheetXAI sidebar
- Click Settings
Step 2: Paste your API key(s)
Depending on what you’re using, you may set one or more of the following:
- OpenAI (for OpenAI models)
- OpenRouter (for OpenRouter models)
- Straico (if you’re using Straico)
- Any other supported provider shown in Settings
Step 3: Save, then confirm
- Click Save
- If the UI has a separate confirmation step, click Confirm Settings
Step 4: Verify it’s working
Try a simple request in the chatbot like:
- “Summarize this sheet”
- “Create a formula for column B that …”
If you’re using SAI formulas, test a single cell first before filling down.
Common issues
- Key not saved: Make sure you clicked Save (and Confirm Settings if present).
- Wrong tab: Some capabilities use different tabs (Default / Content / Image / URL / etc.). Set the key/provider in the relevant tab.
- Leading/trailing spaces: Copy/paste keys carefully—spaces can break authentication.
