Overview
This guide takes you from AppSumo redemption to a working SheetXAI seat in Google Sheets or Excel. The process has four parts: authorize the AppSumo purchase, create and verify your SheetXAI account, assign seats, then install the spreadsheet product.
1. Activate your purchase
- Open the SheetXAI purchase in your AppSumo account and select Activate Now.
- Select Activate. If AppSumo asks to let SheetXAI connect to your purchase, approve the authorization so the license can be validated.
- AppSumo displays the license key, tier, and status after activation. Keep the key private; use the account flow rather than posting or sending the key to someone else.
- Enter the email address you want to use for the SheetXAI account, choose and confirm a password, then select Create Account.
2. Sign in with your email verification code
After account creation, you’ll be redirected to SheetXAI sign-in. Enter the email address used to create the account. SheetXAI sends a six-digit one-time verification code to that inbox.
Enter the six-digit code and choose Verify and sign in. If the page is showing a sign-up view, select Login to return to the sign-in form, then request the code for your account email. Check spam or junk mail if it does not arrive.
3. Assign your team seats
In the LTD Manager, assign a seat to each person who should use SheetXAI. A seat connects the LTD entitlement to the email that person will use to sign in:
- Google Sheets: use the Google account that person uses with Sheets.
- Excel: use an email address the person can access to complete one-time-code sign-in.
- For either product, have the person sign in with the same email assigned to their seat.
Your tier determines how many seats are available. If your team uses one shared API key, configure it in the LTD Manager’s shared-key area. Teammates can use the shared provider configuration without viewing the key itself. Limit shared keys to people who should be able to use that provider account.
4. Install SheetXAI
From the LTD Manager, select Install SheetXAI and choose the product included with your purchase. If Excel is unavailable in the selector, check whether the Excel add-on is part of your entitlement.
Google Sheets
Choose the SheetXAI Chrome extension or the Google Sheets add-on, then complete the installation prompts. Open Google Sheets while signed in to the Google account assigned to your seat. With the Chrome extension, select the SheetXAI logo to open its side panel. With the Sheets add-on, open a spreadsheet and launch SheetXAI from the Extensions menu.
Microsoft Excel
If your purchase includes Excel access, choose Excel and follow the Microsoft AppSource installation prompts. In Excel, open the SheetXAI add-in and sign in using the email assigned to your seat. Enter the emailed verification code if prompted. Excel sign-in is separate from the LTD Manager session, but the seat email must match so SheetXAI can recognize the entitlement.
5. Choose how to pay for AI usage
Your LTD provides product access. AI usage is funded separately through assigned SheetXAI credits or a provider API key (BYOK).
Use SheetXAI credits
If your purchase includes or you add a SheetXAI credit pack, assign the credits to the appropriate seat in the LTD Manager. These are one-time credits, not a monthly renewing subscription. When they run out, assign another pack if you have one or configure your own provider API key.
Bring your own API key
Add an API key from a supported provider in SheetXAI Settings. The provider account associated with the key handles usage charges and limits. You can use BYOK instead of credits or switch to it when the seat's assigned credits run out. Keep keys in the provider's intended credential field, not in prompts, screenshots, or ordinary spreadsheet cells.

Troubleshooting
I can sign in, but SheetXAI does not recognize my LTD seat
Confirm that the email used to sign in exactly matches the email assigned to the seat in the LTD Manager. For Google Sheets, check the active Google account in the browser as well. Switch to the assigned account, then reopen SheetXAI.
I did not receive the verification code
Check that you entered the account email correctly, then look in spam or junk mail. Return to the sign-in form and request a new code if available. Use the newest code and enter it before it expires.
I cannot select Excel
Excel access is a separate add-on. Check the entitlements shown for your purchase in AppSumo or in the LTD Manager.
I am unsure which plan or add-on I purchased

Your AppSumo purchase controls the tier, seats, and add-ons attached to your account. If the account is active but the spreadsheet product does not recognize your seat, first compare the sign-in email with the seat assignment; then contact SheetXAI support with the purchase email and a description of the issue. Never send your password, verification code, API key, or full license key in a support request.
