Using the Clear Chat Feature in SheetXAI

Overview

The Clear Chat feature allows you to quickly remove all messages from your current conversation with SheetXAI and start fresh. This simple but useful function helps maintain a clean workspace and can help resolve context-related issues.

Important Note: Clearing the chat cannot be undone. All previous messages and their history will be permanently removed.

How to Use Clear Chat

1. Open SheetXAI

   • In Google Sheets: Click the SheetXAI icon in the sidebar or go to Extensions → SheetXAI → Open Chat
   • In Excel: Click the SheetXAI tab in the ribbon, then click Open SheetXAI

2. Click the Clear Chat Button

   • Look for the Clear Chat option in the SheetXAI sidebar
   • Click the button to instantly remove all messages

3. Start Fresh

   • The chat interface will reset to its initial state
   • Any previous conversation history will be removed
   • You can begin a new conversation with SheetXAI

When to Use Clear Chat

• Starting a New Task: When switching to a completely different project or task
• Removing Confusion: When the conversation has become cluttered or confusing
• Resetting Context: When you want SheetXAI to forget previous context or instructions
• Improving Performance: When a long conversation might be causing slower responses
• Privacy Concerns: When you've discussed sensitive data and want to clear the history
